Recoverly - Photo, Files App ("we," "our," or "us") helps users review local storage and search for recoverable photos, videos, files, and related items on their own devices. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and process information when you use our mobile application.

1. Permissions and Local Data Access

To provide deep-scanning and file recovery services, our App requires certain permissions. These permissions are only requested when necessary and are used strictly to enable app features:

• All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): This permission allows the App to scan directories and folders that standard media permissions cannot access. It is necessary to search for, preview, and restore non-media file types (such as documents, compressed files, and lost system traces) as requested by the user.
• Media & Storage Permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / VIDEOS): Used to locate and read deleted or existing photos, videos, and audio files on your device's storage.
• Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE): Deep scanning of large storage volumes can take time. We use a foreground service to keep the scanning progress visible to you and prevent the Android system from terminating the active task in the background. This service is never used for hidden monitoring or unrelated background activities.
• Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to send you alerts regarding scanning results, recovery status, or helpful tips. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

2. On-Device Local Processing

Your privacy is our priority. All scanning, analyzing, metadata review, and recovery processing of your files happen strictly on your local device.

• No Uploading of Personal Files: We do not upload your photos, videos, documents, or recovered files to any cloud storage or external servers.
• User Control: You retain full control over your files. You decide which items to preview, restore, keep, or ignore. Please note that scan results do not guarantee 100% recovery for every deleted file, as overwritten data may be unrecoverable.

3. Third-Party Services and Non-Personal Data Collection

To keep our App free to use, we monetize through advertisements and monitor app performance using third-party SDKs. These third-party services may automatically collect certain non-personal device information, such as:

• IP address, device model, operating system version, and mobile network information.
• Advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID, IDFA) to deliver relevant, non-personalized or personalized ads.
• App crash reports, diagnostics, and performance analytics to help us fix bugs and improve app stability.

These third parties are bound by their own privacy policies. Common providers we may use include Google AdMob, Google Firebase Analytics, and other industry-standard ad networks.

4. Data Sharing and Security

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal photos, videos, or recovered content with any third parties.

Because your personal files never leave your device, we do not store them, and therefore, they are secure from server-side data breaches. For the non-personal diagnostic and advertising data processed by third-party SDKs, we use industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our recovery features, Android permissions, or Google Play/App Store requirements. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect when the latest changes were made. Continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.
