This Privacy Policy explains how FamTrack — Location Share ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use this family location sharing app. We describe the permissions and data involved so every person in a shared circle can understand what is enabled and make an informed choice.
Information We May Access
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the App may access limited device and app information such as device model, Android version, app version, language setting, country or region, crash logs, diagnostic events, and basic performance data. This information helps us understand whether the App is working correctly, fix errors, improve compatibility, and keep features stable across different devices.
For core product functions, the App may also access current or recent location updates when you enable sharing, map display information, trusted-circle membership, invitations, display names, saved places, place-alert settings, battery status context, notification state, and SOS event status. We request only information connected to a feature shown in the App or required by Android system behavior.
Permission Use
Location, notification, network, and foreground service permissions may be requested so live sharing, maps, trusted-place alerts, battery context, and SOS features can work as expected. A foreground service may be used only while an active, user-enabled sharing session needs to remain visible.
Permissions can usually be managed in Android settings. If you disable a required permission, the related feature may stop working, show less current information, or provide limited results. We do not ask you to grant permissions for unrelated purposes.
How Information Is Used
We use location and circle information to show updates to the family members or trusted contacts you choose, display map views, support saved-place alerts, show battery context, deliver notifications, and transmit an SOS message when you actively use that feature. We also use limited technical information to maintain app stability, diagnose crashes, improve compatibility, prevent misuse, and support analytics or advertising where those services are included.
Analytics and advertising partners may process limited identifiers, app interaction events, approximate device information, and diagnostic data according to their own policies and platform rules. They are not given access to precise location merely because you use the App.
Local Processing and User Control
Where practical, settings, circle details, and feature results are processed on your device. You remain responsible for deciding when to start or stop sharing, which people may receive updates, whether to enable a saved-place alert, and whether to send an SOS. Location sharing should be used only with clear permission from the people involved.
The App is not intended for hidden tracking, secret monitoring, or unlawful surveillance. You can pause sharing, change the active circle, leave a group, revoke permissions, clear app data, or uninstall the App at any time. Some information may remain on your device or in system backups depending on Android settings.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your precise location history or share it with unrelated parties for their own purposes. Location updates are shown to the recipients and trusted contacts selected through the sharing controls. We may share limited technical information with service providers that help operate maps, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, app distribution, security, or support services.
We may also disclose limited information when required by law or valid legal process, or when necessary to protect users, the App, platform integrity, or public safety. A map or messaging provider may process information needed to return a map, notification, or SOS service according to its own policy.
Data Retention
We keep location updates, saved-place settings, circle membership, invitations, alert events, and SOS delivery information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the features you use, maintain safety and abuse controls, resolve support requests, or meet legal and security obligations. Retention can vary by feature and account settings.
You can stop sharing, remove yourself from a circle, delete local app data, or uninstall the App. Data already delivered to another participant or retained in a device backup may remain subject to that participant's or backup provider's controls.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to reduce unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or improper handling of location and account information. No app, device, network, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so use trusted circles, review recipients carefully, manage permissions, and keep Android updated.
Children
The App is not directed to children under the minimum age required by local law. A parent or guardian should decide whether a child may use location sharing and should ensure that every participant understands the sharing arrangement. Users must not use the App to access another person's location without permission.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy when features, location permissions, foreground-service behavior, legal requirements, platform rules, analytics services, or advertising services change. The updated version will apply after it is made available in the App, store listing, or related policy page.
